Suppose the specified angle is X and the value of this angle is greater than 90 degrees. So, the formula is-

X = (180° – the cutting angle) ÷ 2

Now imagine a cut angle and let’s find out the answer. Assume the cutting angle is 130 degrees. Now apply it into the formula 1-

X = (180° – 130°) ÷ 2

= 50° ÷ 2

= 25°

The value of X is 25 degrees. So, you need to set the miter saw at 25 degrees angle.

Assuming angle X is greater than 90 degrees and is specified. Now, the formula is-

X= 90° – (Trim angle ÷ 2)

Consider a cut angle of 130 degrees, and let’s use formula 2 to find out the answer-

X= 90° – (Trim angle ÷ 2)

= 90° – (130° ÷ 2)

= 90° – 65°

= 25°

So, the value of X is 25 degrees. Now you need to set the miter saw at this angle accurately.
